Thief is a Stealth themed action game developed by Eidos-Montréal.
Garrett, who has been away from home for a long time in the game, returns to The City. However, when he returns, he sees that the city is affected by the plague and ruled by a cruel Baron.
Although the people gather and revolt against the rich who live comfortably by exploiting the poor, it is not so easy to overthrow it.
Garrett is voiced by Romano Orzari in this game, instead of Steven Russell, whose voice we are used to in previous games. Previously, Thief fans who wanted Steven Russell’s return sent a petition to Eidos-Montréal, but they did not get any results.
The reason for this change was that Garrett’s motion capture recordings and voiceover had to be simultaneous to avoid incompatibility. Both his motion capture actor and his vocalizing Romano Orzari became Garrett’s voice thanks to these features.
The thief has somewhat unique but disabled gameplay.
Garrett’s voice was not the only thing that changed in the game. With the custom difficulty feature in the game, the player can now set their difficulty level. This innovation makes it possible to turn almost everything on and off as a separate editor in-game. By choosing the Thief experience you want to play, you can earn more points according to your preferences.
It is quite considerable to use the equipment you have at the right time and in the right place as you progress in the game because you cannot hide for a long time with the environmental effects that develop beyond your control. As in every stealth game, there are fine points to be aware of in Thief.
Many types of arrows and other materials purchasable. Despite this, you can often go around empty-handed since you can not identify the sellers.
There is a vision feature called focus in the game. With this feature, your sight gets a buff, and most things you can interact within the environment become apparent.
Although Thief manages to increase the variety with its numerous features, it cannot offer a good gaming experience due to its lack of gameplay.
There is an aspect of the game that feels shallow and inadequate, especially in the close combat action parts. This situation can cause you to get bored quickly.
Although Thief is a 2014 game, it stands as proof that a better game principle should emerge in the future.
The theme it has and all that it wants to give, but cannot, can provide it with a new game.
The long-awaited Thief was not liked enough by critics and gamers.
However, if you like stealth-themed games it is a good idea to give the Thief a chance.
